Oddero Barolo Villero DOCG, Piemonte, 2020, 75cl 6-set truffle and lilacShowing more tobacco, leather, cranberry and freshly tilled soil, this is a bolder style of Nebbiolo. The Oddero 2020 Barolo Villero has an interlude of sweet cherry and plump fruit, but then it veers towards tart fruit flavors followed by fine powdery tannins. Smoothness is a theme that continues throughout. It ages in large French oak casks and spends six months in cement vat to better integrate. Production is 6,000 bottles. Monica Larner, Wine
