Conspicuous Gallantry Cross Miniature Medal Clasps & Rosettes The General Service Medal 1962Instituted in 1993 as part of the restructuring of the honours system designed to remove distinction between ranks. The Royal Warrant, dated 7th February 1995 does not appear to have been published in the London Gazette. This cross replaced all previous level two awards for gallantry in action, namely CGM, CGM (Flying), DCM and the DSO (when this was awarded for gallantry).
